What would you say if I told you that is not true? You might react the way I did. I did a double take and asked,
“HUH?”
Dr. Alex Loyd talks at length about how he has worked with people of every age through his life’s work in ministry; in the mental health field; as a consultant; and currently with his association with The Healing Codes. He has learned from experience that people get blocked, stuck, mired in their own thinking and beliefs. The untrue beliefs take people to extremes, and it’s the extreme ends of the spectrum that creates issues, makes a mess of our immunity and contributes to feelings of guilt, regret and depression.
You see, the extremes do not serve us well. We get paralyzed in our ability to function optimally; our immune systems take a hit; our spirits literally droop.
So we either vacillate between the tendency to be perfect and achieve perfection or we despair and appear to be lazy because we are overwhelmed. Those are the extremes.
The word “responsibility” is defined by Webster as having a secure certain outcome.
We might conclude that responsibility is highly overrated by the world at large. Society sees responsibility as a good thing. But to focus on responsibility is to key in on an EXTERNAL situation. If we look inward, focusing on the INTERNAL, we understand it has to do with the spiritual side of our selves. Society doesn’t necessarily accept the spiritual aspect of life.
To focus exclusively on the external is to violate the spiritual law of nature. External imparts to the world appearances—in terms of money, of routine, of accumulation of things.
The extreme of this responsibility business shows another face: it looks like procrastination and may go by the name of laziness. You see, people who focus on the external become so overwhelmed that they are literally overcome by responsibility.
We human beings get stuck in our dogma, our belief, our paradigms. It seems to me that the Good Book talks about the Source, or Power and the vessel, or conduit.
Here is a way too simple fix: Operate with our focus and intent on the internal! Would it not be possible, even delightful, if we lived not with RESPONSIBILITY but ACCOUNTABILITY? That would give us the opportunity to experience love, joy, peace.
Ask a 12 year old kid to STOP AGING. Insist that, with only a snap of your fingers, he must GROW. Ridiculous, isn’t it? These are issues that are out of the youngster’s control. Well, our lives are like that, too. We cannot control every aspect. All we can do, really, is to be our best selves. That’s what our Creator asks of us.
What I am asking of you, dear reader, is to take a look at The Healing Codes. But only if you desire to stand in your truth, experience joy, peace and love as never before.

Offline Career If you look at the above picture you can see pretty much what Nebraska looks like on a snowy early morning. If you can envision that same scene at 2 AM you know it will be pretty dark, despite a fullish moon.
This is our life these days! We are proud to be the newest carriers here for the Lincoln Journal Star newspaper.
At 2 AM our alarm rudely wakes us. We shuffle to get fresh coffee and wake up our eyes. Norm pulls on his clothes and boots and heads for the newspaper drop at the tire store in our sleepy little town. There is open shelter there for easy access for the newspapers that have been dropped off to be delivered all over town. Sometimes the other Lincoln carrier and the World Herald carrier converge at the same time, eager to get their papers into the hands of their customers; they also want to grab some coffee and a nap!
Our route has approximately 70 papers, depending on who lives in assisted living or who went to the nursing home or who is vacationing. We bring the bundles into the house, fold, bag, tie and load them into manageable sized boxes. The larger bundles, meant for stores, are separated so we can drop them off at the appropriate place. It is crucial these newspapers be placed in bags to protect them from the elements.
If all goes well, and we don't get stuck like we did one morning-THANK YOU, ANDRE, FOR PLAYING THE ROLE OF THE GUARDIAN ANGEL-we are home right around 6 AM, just in time to unplug the telephone and catch some zzzzz's!
We bumble around in the dark, making every effort to identify house numbers, remember who gets a paper on which days and making certain the paper is placed where the customer wants it. You'll be happy to know it's getting easier every day! But not nearly as happy as I am! I am the one who's bumbling and stumbling!
The good news is that we've had no complaints so far! The bad news is that we got 126 papers that were not ours yesterday and they were bagged and tied before we knew what the real scoop was.
SIDEBAR: The real deal was that the delivery truck guy left them; I guess he had no clue they were not ours, either. 70+ PLUS 126 = too many papers for one route; LOTS of LAUGHS and GROANS; and one great story to tell! END SIDEBAR
We marvel that we have this opportunity to work as a well ordered team. At our age-you recall that there have been MANY birthday cakes with 33 candles in this house-that we are willing and ABLE to scramble uphill to driveways too slick and too steep to maneuver; that we can remember which house gets the Wednesday edition; that we have the umpity-go and limber enough joints to DO this daily deed is delightful to us and we are very, very grateful.
I wonder: Would we be able to manage this grind if we did not have The Healing Codes? Well, I'm not going to experiment and let them go. We have papers to deliver and life to live! Thank goodness for peace, joy, fun, success, laughter and the opportunity to work closely with the Normanator!
Dr. Alex Loyd and his wife, Traci, took their family on an extravagantly expensive and memorable vacation to The Big Apple several years ago. He recently reminisced about that trip.
He fondly recalled that they took in Broadway shows, ate in interesting and unique restaurants and saw all the sites of New York City, just as any tourist would.
While they waited for a ferry the whole family was mesmerized by a man who may well have been a street dweller. This fellow had managed somehow to train a squirrel!
This phenomenon amazed the entire Loyd family. As Dr. Alex sat quietly and motionless on a bench, the little squirrel slowly approached him. He scampered up the bench and hopped onto Dr. Loyd’s shoulder. Very gingerly, the squirrel retrieved the nut the doctor held and then moved away from the Dr. and the bench, proudly toting his prize!
Dr. Loyd said the kindly squirrel trainer looked at their young son directly and shook his hand. “You are a fine young man,” the man offered. “Your parents must be very proud of you. What kinds of things are you interested in?” And so the man interacted with each youngster and the parents. Here was a human being who showed genuine interest in each family member as individual persons.
The entire Loyd family left that experience feeling that they had been immersed in pure love and peace. Those few minutes gave each of them total joy!
Recently the family gathered to discuss vacation plans again. One of the children asked his parents and siblings, “Remember the man with the squirrel in New York?” Of course they all did. Moreover, they also all remembered the peace, joy, and love they had experienced in those few moments. Each of them relived that anew as they reminisced.
Isn’t it interesting that after an elaborate vacation trip, replete with Broadway shows, luxury hotels, bright lights and city streets it was a living being that gave these people joy, peace and the feeling of being completely loved?
Mother Connie so totally relates with this. Each Monday we get this same feeling from attending the Toastmasters International meetings at the state prison. It is not because of the instant coffee they gleefully share; it is not being impressed with the cold, impersonal atmosphere or cement block walls; not even the clang of the automatic doors.
What impresses us is the FEELING we get from men-LIVING BEINGS-who accept the volunteers for who we are, warmly welcoming us because we are there, and creating an environment-even within that prison environment-that engenders the feelings of pure love, blissful peace and utter joy.
Do you yearn for joy that has thus far eluded you?

On that premise and with our good friends, Bill and Velda, we set off for an Art Show on Friday evening. It was the kind of fun Norm and I enjoy most: good friends; good food; good entertainment. The atmosphere was wholesome, refreshing and utterly delightful.
Bill and Velda's kids are remarkable, so it naturally follows that their children and grandchildren would be remarkable. Their son, Rod, is a consummate musician. He is also a terrific husband and father. He is loaded with great and creative ideas.Rod demonstrated his creative traits by instigating Friday's event.
There are a number of local artists everywhere. Rod's innovative notion is to showcase a few of them at a time in a setting where they could be enjoyed over coffee and in the company of friends. Rod's own church makes the ideal location for such a program. It is perfectly set up with lighting and a sound system; there is also enough room for round tables, making for an intimate setting.
Upon entering the building, we were treated to a display of work from media artists, Nicholas Pella. His work is impressive and colorful and, as you might imagine, unique. As people inspected and enjoyed the display, everyone seemed to be imagining where in their own homes these paintings could be hung. There was even a portfolio to browse.
A cover charge to pay for the evening's heat was assessed upon our arrival at the room housing the event. Gourmet coffees and tea were sold throughout the evening, as were the artists' wares. We settled ourselves at a table in the middle of the room. Each table had a mason jar with a tea light and scattered about the tabletop was sheet music and artist's business cards. First up on the program was a charming young married couple from the host church, who shared their musical talent and a bit of themselves by performing in the Christian music genre. As they sang I wondered why "America's Got Talent" or "American Idol" has not picked up this duo.
The MC told us about the plan to feature monologues...they opted to call that part of the program "Log Jams."
A darling young woman, a local member of Rod's church, gave us her "Log Jam" as a reading portraying a school girl and we giggled throughout.
There was an impressive poetic recitation, replete with props and costuming. The actor, Galen Boltz, has enjoyed a brilliant career as a school administrator in this area. He brought down the house with his rendition of Edgar Allen Poe's "The Raven!" I watched a little boy who was totally transfixed by Mr. Boltz's performance. I got the distinct impression that five year old's life was changed in those moments.
After an intermission we were treated to a performance of original music of home-town-boy-makes-good, Daniel Christian. This kid is something special, all right. You can see for yourself because I've posted one of his videos, including his charming patter for your enjoyment. He has an extensive body of work on YouTube and on his website. Here's hoping you music lovers will scout out those sites. Incidentally, where are the talent scouts from all the TV talent shows when this guy is performing? He really should be showcased on an international stage! Saturday Night Live, are you listening?
Rod dubbed his program "Here and Now" because he thinks people race through life. He thinks we need to kick back, relax, enjoy what's happening NOW.
At the risk of sounding redundant, Mother Connie agrees with importance of staying focused on the present. If you have hung around this blog any length of time you know she's mentioned how today is a gift.
I have no vested interest in Nicolas Pella's art work. Nor do I have a vested intereste in Daniel Christian's music. But I surely do hope you who are into wonderful works of art and wholesome music buy their wares. It will keep you in the Here and Now.
So far as The Healing Codes are concerned? Yes, I have a vested interest there. You can read the disclaimer the FTC likes for us to include. It appears at the bottom of every post Mother Connie writes. They, too, will help you with the Here and Now.

There are many joys to be had by living in Southeast Nebraska and being married to The Normanator . Glorious opportunities present themselves for growth and learning. One such example is our involvement with the Tall Grass Prairie Partnership.
They recently held the 6th Annual Tall Grass Prairie Seminar and we were on the front row.
The first speaker, Steve Clubine, hails from Missouri. He is extremely knowledgeable about grasses, grazing and management techniques. His humor kept us keenly interested; his common sense showed through and it was a delightful presentation. He is comfortable with teaching, so we were comfy in learning from him.
We were treated to the most charming of speakers, Sibylla Brown, from Iowa. She and her retired husband made the transition from a dental practice and a career in English and French to an in vivo education in managing a forestry project.
The title of Sibylla's talk was "Discovering Eden." She took us through their journey as they set about restoring a White Oak savanna. She traced the history of it through the ages. We "met" the people who helped them: biologists, botanists, grant writers, even neighbors whose oral histories helped them understand what they have on this piece of property.
The Browns were warned by their attorney. He admonished them about the poor quality of the soil on the land they had decided to purchase. His advice: "Be careful or they'll try to slip another 20 acres into that package!"
According to Sibylla, as time went by the Browns discovered more Morrell mushrooms than they could eat in a season! Those were followed by happy discoveries of many more species of edible mushrooms, including the Red Reishi mushroom, which is considered to be the King of Mushrooms in Southeast Asia!
I am so pleased to tell you that the Browns have made arrangements for this precious, restored land package to be cared for in perpetuity. What a legacy to leave to the world! Impressive, to say the least.
During lunchtime, it was fascinating to chat with interesting, caring land owners who are making every effort to be good stewards of our planet. There were producers of organic raw milk; farmers who produce organic free range poultry and eggs; even The Buffalo Guy was there to talk about his beloved herd of bison. The Normanator's own cousin keeps bees and grows enough vegetables to have a stand at the Farmers Market. His name is also Norman and he traveled with us to the Big Event.
The program following lunch did not disappoint, either. Gordon Warrick talked about the creation of burn associations to coordinate patch burning, promoting good grazing management and that meant lively discussion from passionate land owners.
The panel discussion organized to discuss weeds was introduced by Chris Helzer. HE KNOWS STUFF about weeds and how to deal with them! He called in reinforcements, though, and invited Paul Rohrbach to interact with other land owners to share their common experiences in dealing with the confounding issues weeds and invasive plants have created. Who knew weeds, of all things, could make for such a riveting program?
The program closed with a Patch Burning presentation by Dr. Stephen Winter, who had data and diagrams, demonstrations and a pony tail. He personified the crowd who showed up. Over a hundred people attended this event and each was as ordinary looking as the other. Some wore shirts with their state and department name on them. Those were the guys whose heads are filled to their eyebrows with knowledge they are eager for the world to have.
I deeply believe that if you want to see something special, you should discover Eden for yourselves by visiting the lovingly restored savanna in Iowa. If you need to know where to find it, I can hook you up.
If you need information about how to get or be well, have better relationships or reach success in your life whether you live in Tall Grass Prairie country or anywhere else on the planet, we can help there, too! The Healing Codes will be just the thing!

When 2010 arrived I made three promises to myself:
Simplify
Focus
Fun
The second item comes into sharp focus-pardon the pun, please-when it comes to health care. Mother Connie is ALL about health, as you are well aware.
I have a new strategy for you in managing the care of your health as it pertains to the stress in your life and it involves focus.
Did you know that focusing on the past or on the future can create problems for you in the present? Yes. It's true.
Dr. Alex Loyd talks and teaches about this extensively. He gives us this example to illustrate his point: There was someone who was a fan of John Lennon while they were in college. As their troubles caused them to seek professional help, they sought out Dr. Loyd. With this fan, Dr. Loyd examined their past. It was revealed that ever since the death of Lennon, this fan's life spiraled downward in every area. He dropped out of college, his career never developed, his relationships suffered and he was stressed to the max.
This poor, stressed out fan was so focused on the PAST he had forgotten he even had a future!
Some people are so focused on the FUTURE that they forget to pay attention to the details of NOW. The blogger who is so interested in getting free help that he neglects to post; the mother who is so worried about air travel issues that air travel worry takes precedence, causing her to shirk her maternal responsibilities; the elderly couple who are so focused on what they'd do if they lost their partner that they feel lost and become too paralyzed to plan for their needs when one passes from this life.
Dr. Loyd tells about his own dear mother. She lived through the Great Depression and her family lost their home. This traumatic event was so much a part of her experience that she lived 'in her past' by allowing everything to be colored by that painful event. Her heart was on duty to protect her at all times.
It is impossible to focus on more than one thing at a time. When thoughts and feelings collide the heart wins every time.
So what does the library have to do with all this? Dr. Loyd offers that we can use the pain in our lives to learn and grow. Instead of placing the FOCUS on the painful past or the worrisome future, we should VISIT the past or the future the way we visit the library. We do not LIVE at the library. Similarly, we cannot LIVE in the past nor can we live in the future.
All we have is NOW. It's a gift, really. That's why it's called the present.
Do you need help with your past or future? Are you living a life of joy? Are you standing in your truth with love, or do you find yourself wallowing miserably in falsehoods? The Healing Codes stand ready to help you NOW.

What About H1N1 Vaccines, Anyway? Some of you know that Mother Connie's love affair with massage therapy began with Foot Reflexology. Her devotion to health, however, dates all the way back to her childhood.
A lifetime, especially one where decades are spent perennially claiming to be 33 years old, can mean that some ideas and opinions can become firmly ingrained. One such idea that Mother Connie has embraced has to do with traditional medicine and vaccinations.
She has been known to carry a soap box with her at all times, in order to stand on it, shout her message loudly to all within earshot. This may or may not have served her well.
Today she stands on her soap box once again. This time she directs your attention to the number of deaths associated with the H1N1 outbreak commonly known as the Swine Flu.
SIDEBAR: "Why DID they name it Swine Flu?" she ponders. Could it be because those who offered the vaccine were pigheaded in their pursuit of practicing medicine? END SIDEBAR.
Here is information offered up by the Center for Disease Control:
• 61 million Americans were vaccinated against swine flu (about 20% of the U.S. population). The CDC calls this a "success" even though it means 4 out of 5 people rejected the vaccines. *20% of the people have heard Mother Connie's advice?
• 55 million people "became ill" from swine flu infections.
• 246,000 Americans were hospitalized due to swine flu infections.
• 11,160 Americans died from the swine flu.
Base on these statistics, the CDC now desperately urges people to get vaccinations because they maintain 'the pandemic might come back and vaccines are the best defense.'
BUT HERE IS THE KICKER:
The CDC does not reveal the single most important piece of information about these toxic H1N1 vaccines: How many of the people who died from the swine fluhad already been vaccinated?
Incidentally, there were no double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical studies done to learn about infection reduction mortality. Isn't that INTERESTING?
The media campaign that's been cooked up never, ever asked burning questions. Think about it. Have you heard anybody mention "None of these deaths occurred in patients who had been vaccinated against H1N1."? No. Because people who died HAD been previously vaccinated.
From her soap box Mother Connie is shaking her finger, declaring loudly and crankily, "I TOLD YOU SO!" Vaccines are not nearly as effective as the CDC or the media or a medical professional wishes they were. They are toxic, deadly in some cases, and not worth the trouble of finding and getting and PAYING FOR THEM.
Ah, it all boils down to hard cash, doesn't it?
Mother Connie does not do numbers but someone who did crunch the numbers said you have a 700% greater chance of being struck by lightning in your lifetime, than being saved by vaccines.
According to the media hype, there was a "shortage" of vaccines. Now the CDC and the World Health Organization find that they will be dumping these useless but poisonous vaccines that currently glut the market.
Oh, brother. We better all make sure our water filters are working properly or we will be ingesting that toxicity regardless of our intentions not to do so.

Stress results in DIS-EASE, also known as disease, illness, sickness, feeling puny.
A recent Stanford University Medical School study found that 95% of all disease--DIS-EASE--is caused by stress.
Just look around. There are people everywhere who are obese, chronically ill, under draconian medical care and they are popping pills for every conceivable ailment. People who live in the richest nation on earth are unhappy!
There's a solution for managing stress, you know. Dr. Ben Johnson, MD, had this to say about his favorite stress relieving technique: "This technique changes stress in a matter of minutes in a scientifically provable and reproducible way, thus eliminating the cause of illness and disease in the body. I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THIS BEFORE!" For those of you who may not know who Dr. Ben is, he appeared in "The Secret" and was the only physician to do so.
Stanford. Dr. Ben Johnson. Mother Connie. Three people who are on the very same page when it comes to managing stress. Maybe YOU should look into it right away. Unless, of course, you enjoy feeling stressed and crummy.
We aren't desperate enough to go looking for outdoor facilities YET...but we live in a house that has some age. The bathroom is delightfully mid-century but because of the age of the facilities, we had to call our local plumber. The plan calls for him to replace the "innards" so things work properly.
Wouldn't it be great if we could call someone when our own "innards" act up? I think it would be awesome to call up the liver specialist and order a replacement part. He could swing by, install the new model, and be on his way.
Maybe we should write to our legislators to see if that might fit into the Health Care Reform? It would constitute reform, all right.
Actually, we can facilitate change in our lives without calling anyone. For truly. All we have to do to transform our relationships, our health, our financial picture is to utilize energy medicine as many times a day as we choose. Energy medicine is emerging as the modality of choice more every day!
As human beings, we tend to struggle through life. We make life harder than it needs to be. We complicate our lives. We over think problems, seeking solutions.
WHAT IF total transformation were as easy as relaxing several times a day to create new pictures for our brain to read? WHAT IF your relationships improved JUST THAT EASILY? Would it be helpful to amp up your success quotient as easily as just letting go and doing a simple protocol that improves your quality of life? It really is that simple, you know.
If you could experience peace and joy, wouldn't you give up a few minutes so you could relax and perform a few codes to heal our lives throughout the day?
If not, why not? Why would you not choose to live your truth, empower yourself, and live the joy-filled life you know you deserve?
Let's compare feeling crummy to using an outhouse. And let's say that living in joy is akin to having access to a lovely, modern, spa-like bath. The transition from crummy to modern would be a simple, relaxing protocol. Sounds good to me.
Jeepers! I hope the plumber won't be late.

Since I do not have to go out in it I can sit in the comfort of my own home and observe the wind, the drifting and those icicles!
Living on the Great Plains of Nebraska, we are no strangers to winter weather but this winter has been harsh. Even school children are more than ready to go back to the school day routine. No doubt their caretakers will be glad when that happens, too!
The charm of snow days has worn thin.
At the risk of sounding like an old lady, I am reminiscent of a memorable winter storm in the 1940's. There was no snow removal equipment then like we have today and cattle were at serious risk in the central and western part of Nebraska. Hay had to be airlifted because cattle had no access to feed. Farmers could not get to their cattle because of the drifting and blowing snow. Power outages were common and power was reinstated very slowly then.
That blizzard made for some of the happiest family memories of my life, though.
We lived in a basement apartment in the tiny little town of Elwood. My folks drove a 1938 Chevy and it was so cold that the poor little car would not start. So my dad walked the few blocks to town to open his shop. It soon became apparent that the weather would cause everything to shut down, so Dad put on all his winter gear again and prepared to walk home. He had to walk about three blocks to the railroad track, cross it and walk a couple more to get home. He only needed to go in a straight line.
With the blizzard-driven snow, he lost his bearings. The maintainer came along and, thankfully, the driver saw him. If that machine had not come along when it did, I shudder to think of the consequences.
Mom and I were worried about him being gone so long. When that rig drove up and Dad hopped out, we were tremendously relieved.
The power went out in our neighborhood, so we pulled out the kerosene lanterns from our camping gear and lit those. Our landlords lived upstairs. They had propane for cooking; we had oil for heat in the basement. We opened our door to the upstairs and we all huddled in the upstairs kitchen.
For TWO WEEKS without electricity, we cooked, baked and ate; we played games. There was Monopoly and Canasta; we told stories, read to one another and made jokes. There was snow ice cream to be stirred up and eaten. You could do that safely back then.
We could not see the out of doors from our apartment windows for all the deep snow, but we could look out of the upstairs kitchen to see the drifts mounting all over the yard.
There was a young pear tree near the house. When we could make it outside again we could see that tree was buried under a gigantic drift. The snow froze on the top, leaving a thick crust. I could actually walk up that drift with my sled and slide all the way down the snowy "hill" to the bottom!
That blizzard snow did not melt until the spring of 1949! Back in those days, we children walked to school and we had a wonderful time maneuvering the piles of snow the maintainer had left in its path! Our yard was full of snow angels and snowmen and a fort!
In those days, you could pull a sled by a rope tied to the bumper of a car.
HORRORS! YOU WOULD NEVER CONSIDER SUCH A THING NOWADAYS!
Mom and Dad would take the Chevy out on the icy country roads of Gosper County and tie the sled to the bumper. Away we'd go! I remember screaming with delight as we zoomed along!
This winter found us snowed in and hunkered down for Christmas. We had power, though. And while the drifts closed the rock roads in Johnson County and the surrounding area, this storm was not as "romantic" as the one of 1948.
The pictures that time gave me to remember in my head are magnificent. I felt safe and loved and cared for. Even with the sled tied to a car bumper!
If the pictures in YOUR head are not delightful, you would be wise to look into using The Healing Codes. You just need different pictures and The Codes can help you with that.

Welcoming 2010! We are FEET FIRST into a brand new year! It feels akin to having a pocketful of money to spend...how shall we proceed? With caution? With abandon? Maybe we need a budget?
Maybe 2010, stretching before us in all its glory, gives us the illusion we can go at our own pace, maybe put off a few things for now. But before you know it, we will be amazed that another holiday has popped up or we are 'suddenly' another year older. You know the drill. We have all lived it. Time, like life, HAPPENS.
Some of you have made resolutions. Some have even made resolutions they've broken already! I hope your resolve can remain resolute if you made those. As for me, I have simply made three promises to myself: Simplify. Focus. Fun.
SIMPLIFY. I can no longer collect papers to be dealt with later. I must discipline myself to deal with paperwork as it appears and this is true for emails as well! I must learn to pare the "stuff" in the kitchen that no longer serves me. I will take the time to clear away belongings that clutter my life and my mind. Keeping this promise will take some effort, but it is doable.
FOCUS. Pay attention. To people, to the task at hand and instructions; to the messages my body is sending to me via sensations. If I pay close attention in a disciplined manner I am not as likely to be confused and scatter brained. Focus will even improve my well being.
FUN. If it isn't fun, I won't go near it. This is like dessert for me. It will be an easy promise to keep.
My intention is to continue to stand in my own truth, work really hard, play at every opportunity and relish all the joy that is mine. There is so much in my life for which I am eternally grateful; I will cherish it all.
The fervent wish I have for YOU, all my faithful visitors, is that you can welcome 2010 according to YOUR style. By doing so you will soar, basking in the glow of simply being YOU. Holiday Decorations, Anybody? It's quite possible that the boughs of holly that deck your halls don't include nail polish. But it was nail polish that made us especially glad we were in church today!
Unfinished preparations had been on our minds so Pastor Kathy Rahorst's sermon about being CONCERNED as opposed to WORRYING was timely and very appropriate. As we were filing out of the sanctuary we heard gales of laughter. In learning what the fun was all about, we were shown Bill Koehler'sfingernails!
I hasten to mention that Bill Koehler has been 33 as many times as I have so he has a handful of grandchildren. He adores those kids and they hold him in very high esteem. Well, who WOULDN'T love a grandpa who lets the girls decorate HIM for Christmas?
Bill held out his well worn farmer's hands for all to see. On each fingernail was a teeny, tiny Christmas scene from the Baby Jesus in the manger to the Star of David with its light! Bill had patiently and lovingly allowed his granddaughters to paint the little vignettes on all ten fingernails. We giggled because it looked comical and a bit out of Bill's character-after all, he's all guy and a hard working farmer, at that-but we all knew what a kindness, what a gift Bill had given to his whole family.
Any man who is comfortable enough in his own skin to allow people he loves to deck him out in nail polish is a man who is living his truth in love. Those girls will have the best, most delicious memories to pass down to their families one day. Every kid in the world should have such a loving grandfather.

People who read this blog often ask Mother Connie, "How do The Healing Codes work, really?"
Her answer may seem impudent but it's the truth: "VERY WELL, Thank you."
Here's the thing: If you take a shower you scrub and rub and wash your skin so clean that it turns pink and squeaks. It's labor and work to take a shower! However, if you take a bubble bath, you relax and soak away the grime and there is no effort involved.
When you use The Healing Codes, you do not put forth great effort. The magic takes place because your body is wise and works to activate its own healing centers on its own. The important thing is that the protocol for the codes are practiced regularly.
Dr. Ben Johnson, a traditional medical physician, used The Healing Codes and got dramatic results. You can experience dramatic results, too. Learn more about The Healing Codes by clicking here: I want to have more joy, peace and love in my life!
Mother Connie sez you will have fun using The Healing Codes and even more fun when you see what great results await you! Mother Connie Sez: Take Your Own Advice? After all the ranting and raving Mother Connie offered about not being stressed over the Thanksgiving holiday she is pretty red in the face. Oh, she made her own way, all right.
Stress does funny things to people. Even normal people. SIDEBAR: Who in their right mind thinks Mother Connie is normal? END SIDEBAR.
Here's the thing: There are two characters in the family who live in group homes in two different towns. It is a day long event to collect these guys, now 38 and 43, and all their STUFF to bring them home for a visit. While they are in our home they eat like football players and by the way, these guys will eat anything if it does not eat them first. For that, I am eternally grateful. Oh, and by the way, their return trip involves another daylong event.
Between the coming and going we have 2 extra faces to shave or see so the whiskers vanish; we have 2 more baths to supervise and there are a LOT more games of UNO to be played! It's a change in our routine, it's a change in theirs. And change is not anyone's strong suit.
So, in order to facilitate all the changes, Mother Connie immersed herself in cooking, cleanup and laundry. She made lists so everyone would remember where to be and what to bring. On Saturday, Mother Connie and The Normanator had a serious discussion about all the details of Sunday morning church. The plans were laid for an orderly Sunday morning whereby there would be a simple breakfast. The guys would have help getting ready in their Sunday-go-to-meetin' best and we would arrive in time to set up the communion elements and prepare our part for the following Fellowship time. The Normanator even baked one of his specialty cakes in honor of the day's activities.
Everything went like clock work. Some of us were up before the alarm sounded. Faces were scrubbed, teeth were cleaned, whiskers buzzed away and tummies filled with toast. We stopped to collect the boys' aunt from her home in the assisted living facility and off we drove.
We were the first to arrive at the little country church. It was not until Mother Connie turned on the kitchen light and noticed the calendar that it dawned on her: THIS is not communion Sunday! IT IS NEXT WEEK! So, of course, there would be no Fellowship Hour.
The picnic basket housing the cake was whisked away to the trunk of the car for safekeeping! After we finished laughing we sat, looking at one another; marveling that we had arrived so early, so well prepared and so erroneously.
The poor Normanator-it would have been useless to question this plan before it was executed. The stress level registered off the charts, so it was easier for him to just go along with this cockamamie, ill timed plan of Mother Connie's. Besides, he also thought the First Sunday in Advent meant communion would be served.
Mother Connie is living proof that stress addles the brain. With Christmas looming within the month, she would be wise to settle down and take her own advice about not stressing over the details of the holiday.

What would YOU do if you got a diagnosis that was as bad as your worst nightmare? Would you seek another opinion? Might you lobby for more money to find a cure? Perhaps you would call for prayer…or just give up.
If I tell you that help from alternative healing might be of value, would you listen and take the appropriate action?
There are as many alternatives to getting and staying well as there are people, I suspect. I have had wonderful results with an alternative that offers great promise to those who are suffering with chronic conditions and might face a bleak and sickly future, if they have any future at all.
I know of a traditional medical doctor, Dr. Ben Johnson, who was at his wits’ end when he learned about Energy Medicine. He was well into the second year of suffering with a dreaded disease that threatened his life. His traditional medical doctor’s bag offered nothing that would improve the quality of his life, nor could it extend it.
Another medical professional, Dr. Alex Loyd, was able to help his wife with a debilitating condition that not only threatened her own life, but her illness affected the quality of life for her entire family unit. That family has been positively impacted because Energy Medicine eradicated the symptoms that plagued them all for decades!
Energy Medicine is a safe, non toxic, and non invasive alternative treatment that human bodies respond to in a very positive manner.
The very first instance of Energy Medicine and my favorite line of defense would be prayer. Its efficacy is legendary and time honored.
Knowing what I do about health, healing and body mechanics, I would supplement prayer with a simple protocol that stimulates the body’s own healing mechanism.
By simply repeating this protocol symptoms vanish because the body knows how to heal itself. The body gets well from the top down, from the inside out, from left to right and from the present to the past.
The reason energy medicine is so effective and produces the results we desire is because it sparks the body to heal in the way it is meant to heal: top down, inside out, left side to right side and from now to before!
Each of our bodies has its own timetable for becoming well. As a trained and licensed massage therapist, I was taught that for every month we have felt unwell, our bodies would be likely to spend three months recovering. If a body has suffered with a chronic ailment, it may take a long time to feel and become as well as we’d like. You cannot hurry this process and you cannot slow it down! Mother Nature has her own way of healing our bodies and our bodies are in tune with her song!
If you or a loved one is not up to par it would be worth your while to pray and to look to Energy Medicine to alleviate any health issues that are looming. A life well lived can be yours by utilizing the alternative healing tool of Energy Medicine.
Knowing this, physicians are offering PLACEBOS to their patients 50% of the time!
Here's what happened in one case: People who know how to measure these kinds of things figured out that when a placebo was administered to one patient who complained of chronic pain the patient's body actually manufactured morphine!
How can this be? It can happen because the body believed a lie! The body knew it could get relief. The patient believed this so strongly that the body created the very chemistry that would offer relief! Bruce Lipton writes about this sort of thing in "Biology of Belief" and it is riveting.
You must be wondering...if we get the desired result for chronic pain, can we have desired outcomes for our money issues? Relationships? Mental problems?
The short answer is yes. But I hasten to add that believing lies is not always a good plan. We have learned lies from infancy on. They do not always serve us well.
Results require POWER. That's an important point so I am going to repeat it: Results require POWER. THE POWER THAT'S REQUIRED IS BELIEF.
The power of belief comes from IMAGES. Image-less thought is impossible. We think in pictures. When our brain has images of incorrect ideas, or as Dr. Alex Loyd loves to call it-"heart junk"-we are believing lies. When the correct images for the truth are called up we can get the results we want in our lives. Our relationships will flourish, we will attract the success and income we deserve, we will have glowing good health and our lives will be joyous and peaceful.
The Healing Codes are NOT a placebo. The Healing Codes provide a power tool for calling up healthy images in our brains and hearts so we can live our lives in truth and joy and harmony. The Healing Codes are powerful "results getters" and provide an alternative healing program that could be used in conjunction with traditional medical practices.

If it weren't for our parents, we could not set the table! In fact, the table itself was owned by The Fred Baums and it stretches out like no other table I have ever had the pleasure to use!
The only tablecloth large enough to cover the table's great girth is one that Norm's mother had! You can see it in this photo, along with his mother's glassware that looks so pretty in our china cabinet. The china we use for special occasions is the same china my mother purchased at Omaha Crockery Company in the 1950's. I was bored with that shopping trip at the time; now I revel at every opportunity to bring those pieces out of the display case and onto the grand dining table!
Our table was set for 10 people on Sunday to celebrate a luncheon with the families of our church's newly formed Youth Group. Isaac had requested vegetable beef soup so that's what we had. The only problem with that menu item? The hostess served it over toasted French Bread. WHAT WAS I THINKING? The guests were kind enough to bring salad, rolls, desserts and great conversation to the table.
Sadly, we were missing one of our own-she was feeling puny that day-but it was a great way for your humble blogger to mark one more 33rd birthday.
The day was fraught with truth and love. And laughter, mixed with great memories.
Come to think of it, there was no official birthday cake. Thank GOODNESS. I would have just eaten it and I might get to be as wide as that antique table. That would not make for a another comfortable 33rd year...again.
The kind of special day we had on this occasion does not lend itself for the need for alternative healing or energy medicine or therapy.
Alternative Healing: The Very Last Word? Seasoned police officers will tell you that if four people on four connecting corners witness an accident, each one will give a very different account of the event. Each person has his own unique perspective. Perspective changes one's attitude...if we change our attitude, we change everything in our world.
Keeping perspective and attitude in mind, let's examine an imaginary scenario:
What would you say to the person you love the most if it were to be your last word to them?
If you were going away on an extended trip or if they were ill and preparing to pass away or whatever reason you might think - what would your very last word to them be?
There is little doubt you would want your last words to your beloved offer them the key to a successful life and make a positive difference for them.
Let me tell you about Terri Cook. Terri was a player in a small church drama group. One evening as the actors were performing, Terri came out, spoke her lines and promptly dropped dead! It was a mystery as to why a perfectly healthy young student would leave this world so seemingly prematurely but she was gone.
After Terri's passing, her friends and family took note of letters and notes she had written to them. Every one had been signed, "Love Always!" almost as a command from the young lady.
One of us might wish to have our loved ones remember to be persistent, according to what Winston Churchill admonished in his "Never give up" speech. Another of us might want to be remembered for living life lavishly or doing good for others or any number of pieces of advice.
If we think about it, we want the people who mean the most to us in our lives to seek truth. We would hope that they would always live their lives with hearts open and lives filled with joy because they always sought truth.
What WOULD you leave as your last words to your most cherished people?
Whatever words we choose to leave with our loved ones, that represents our own personal truth. LET US LIVE THAT VERY TRUTH NOW.
I'd like to challenge you to consider your 'last words' carefully and return here to post your ideas in the comment box. You are free to be anonymous. There are no correct or incorrect answers; only your perception.

It's that time of year when families gather and sibling rivalry can reign supreme in homes all over the country! The expectations everyone has for a "perfect" holiday scenario can lead to some hurt feelings, opening of old wounds, and general misery if we don't take care to avoid all the negativity.
Mother Connie has some unsolicited advice for everyone. Keep in mind that advice is only worth whatever you pay for it. In this case, I offer it gratis. but I also extend my ideas to you in love. I want everyone to experience the joy in YOUR LIVES that I have in my own.
MOTHER CONNIE SEZ:
Make certain everyone gets enough rest and sleep!
Keep all mealtimes, including holiday feasts as simple and as regular as possible. Offer healthy snacks to everyone, not just sugary, calorie laden treats-even though you deserve them.
Stick to a routine as closely as possible to normal. If you don't HAVE a routine, I highly suggest you establish one, however loosely.
Lower your expectations. Unmet expectations can crush your joy.
Drink your water!
Eat your vegetables!
Take your whole foods supplements!
Be grateful for every aspect of your life and don't be shy to express it!
Remember to be generous to everyone! This does not include spending money you cannot afford to spend. Give of your time and attention, not material things.
Take time out for yourself when you have needs: naps, hair care, pedicures-only YOU know what YOU need to feel de-stressed.
Live your life in truth and with love.
Stay in a positive frame of mind, relax and have fun!
If you follow Mother Connie's lead you will be able to stand with her and echo the sentiments you've heard from her so often: "I LOVE MY LIFE!"
If you do not love your life and your family dynamics have gotten the better of you, go here now to get the help you deserve by using an effective alternative healing tool. HELP IS HERE. NOW. Connie Baum
Alternative Healing: What Are You Missing? Does it ever seem to you that something's missing? Do you ever feel as if maybe you don't have all the PIECES you need to make your life complete?
The truth of the matter is that we ALL arrive on the planet with something missing. This is normal, so there's no need to be alarmed.
People are just a little like computers, in that we have "hardware" which is our instinctual survival instinct. We also have "software" or cellular memory which we acquire from our parents quite naturally. There is more "software" that we get from life experiences from birth to around 5 or 6.
Babies and little children exist in Delta/Theta brain waves. EVERYTHING they see, hear, experience and think goes into their programming. Some of it is true; some of it is not. There is no filter on this programming; it just goes in.
The thing we are missing is not A PIECE but PEACE itself.
An example of how that works might be the way life worked for a bright young woman we will call Ava. Ava had an IQ of 180. It was anticipated that she would go to Wall Street, land a high paying job and take the world by storm. It was not to be, for she sabotaged herself and this brilliant career never materialized.
The reason? When Ava was 5 years old and still in Delta/Beta brain wave mode, her mother gave Ava's sister a popsicle but Ava got nothing. In Ava's 5 year old mind this meant that something was wrong with her and she did not deserve to have a popsicle...or anything else in life.
When Ava learned that it was a falsehood that kept her in "failure mode" she was able to be healed of that untrue belief and her life became highly successful after all.
If we believe lies and falsehoods, we live in misery. If we are living lives filled with truth and love we can experience unbridled joy.
This is not to say that we will never have problems or challenges. It simply means that we will think differently about life's circumstances and brush aside things we might have suffered over before we knew the truth.
The tool that helped Ava's life turn around was an alternative healing method known also as energy medicine. This tool is the wave of the future and helps provide breakthrough after breakthrough for many people. You can learn more about the most amazing alternative healing method on the planet by clicking on this link: Here is where to find YOUR PEACE.
You have read all my diatribes about using the energy of color; you have seen many posts about healing with energy. No doubt you have seen the remarks made by my artist friend, Ralph P. Brown who emphasizes the energy of art pieces.
Today something about energy caught my attention and no matter where I put my attention, will not exit my thoughts. Here's the thing:
When my dear and long time friend, Sheila, went to church she met a woman who was wearing a cape. She knew who the woman was but had not actually met her until yesterday. All she knew was that this was The Cape Lady.
Just before Sheila settled herself for the service, the woman handed Sheila the cape she had been wearing. Sheila was astonished at the FEELING she noticed and held the cape, cuddling against it for a whole hour! She said that the energy of it was like holding a newborn baby. Before the worship began, Sheila inquired about the cost of a cape. The violin music and meditation of the service further wrapped Sheila as she held the woman's cape. Sheila was mesmerized by the energy of The Cape Lady's garment.
Before the worship service ended, Sheila wrote out a check and gave it to The Cape Lady so she could have her very own cape. Living in a cold mountain climate, she would really utilize the warmth of it.
The Cape Lady then gave Sheila her business card and invited her to go to lunch.
Last night Sheila visited the website listed on the business card and was dumbstruck! She was in AWE of what lay before her! You will be, too, when you see what this incredible woman has to say about the creation of the capes she makes to wear, to give and to sell.
The energy and love that is infused into these capes is phenomenal. Finding the correct fabric, choosing the proper style-the whole process is for this artist, a spiritual experience!
Sheila is a self-described "unconditional lover of people" so it's no wonder she attracted The Cape Lady to her! Please visit The Cape Lady and see for yourself the wonder of Energy as a Medium for Art! Then you will begin to understand Sheila's fascination.
When you've seen the beauty of this process, return to this page and leave your comment, won't you, please? We appreciate you so much! YOU give US energy and it feels as good as those capes! Connie Baum
When I went to kindergarten I thought it was great fun to use the Crayolas in the coloring can. I loved coloring in the designs our teacher, Miss Williams, provided for us. I never was artistic; oh, how I envied David Barta because he could draw the most perfect, prettiest yellow bananas! I fancy that David Barta became a graphics artist because of his great use of color in kindergarten!
The most profound experience I ever had with color was when I studied Massage Therapy. I was fascinated to learn that any color could be used to change-improve-the energy in the human body.
I bought brightly colored fabric samples and performed kinesiology or muscle tests on my clients to see how color affected them. It was amazing to discover that the color of a wheelchair a person spent time sitting in could adversely affect their body’s strength! It was equally astonishing to see how a different color could improve the person’s strength!
As I studied various Massage Therapy techniques I was delighted to learn about how the notes of the musical scale and the colors of the rainbow resonate at the same rate! Then I discovered that simply by using crayons-OR PRETENDING TO USE CRAYONS-amazing and wonderful things took place!I’ve collected a few stories about color and how to use it.
My friend, Renita, used a purple headband on the morning when she felt she was not focusing. She reported to me that she was especially productive that day. Another time she was uncomfortable with a headache. She found her purple ribbon and shortly after she put that around her head her headache was history! These things made Renita a firm believer in the use of color with efficacy.
Just the other day Renita’s husband, Jerry, had difficulty with his throat and found swallowing to be a problem. Renita suggested that he use his finger, pretending that it was a light blue crayon. She asked him to stroke downward on his neck to make an imaginary light blue line, which he promptly did. She said the look on his face said it all as he swallowed easily!
Jerry and Renita also like that they did not have to spend a dime for this relief!
I know that if you are still reading this, some of you are rolling your eyes and scoffing. Just because you don’t BELIEVE this to be true, does not make it untrue! It’s not about what you believe; it’s about the energy of color!
When females use color, it’s most effective to begin with the tailbone and work up to the crown of the head. For males, start at the crown and work toward the tailbone.
For simplicity’s sake I offer you an example of how you might use color for a guy’s body:
Crown: MAGENTA Forehead: PURPLE Nose/Mouth: DARK BLUE Chin to Collar Bone: LIGHT BLUE Collar Bone: BLUE-GREEN Chest: GREEN Waist: YELLOW Low Back: ORANGE Tailbone: RED
As an example of how to alleviate a man’s low back pain, for instance, you might apply orange. It could be a piece of fabric; you could apply crayon markings, stroking downward; you could even IMAGINE orange color on that area. This is energy healing in its simplest form.
Those who suffer with it describe it as very, very dark and miserable. They search, sometimes for years, to find the answers they long to have. Entire families are affected by depression-it seems to be a family affair because every member of the household is touched by the depressed person's misery. Depression invades every aspect of every life.
There can be a physical manifestation of pain. There can be anxiety, despair and inability to function. The person with depression can be cranky, out of sorts and very unpleasant. They may have extreme mood swings. People who have feelings of depression live in fear and falsehoods. They feel very unhappy; joy escapes them.
Dr. Alex Loyd is married to a woman who suffered from depression. That's what led him to the discovery of The Healing Codes.
Many ailments begin with stress. Dr. Bruce Lipton has written extensively about how our bodies are designed to go into fight-or-flight mode for our protection. But if we STAY in that mode long enough illness and disease can follow 95% of the time. That's a staggering statistic and a good reason to DE-stress.
Doctors often experience extreme stress. This was true for Dr. Ben Johnson. A successful physician, he was a very sick man when he found The Healing Codes-or did THEY find HIM? In any case, Dr. Ben used The Healing Codes and became free of a debilitating disease. So did Mrs. Alex Loyd. I am pleased to report that she has recovered from her serious, life-threatening depressive condition.
Albert Szent-Gyorgyi, M.D., Nobel Prize Laureate in Hungary said this: "Treating humans without the concept of energy is treating dead matter."
The Healing Codes work with the body's own mechanisms on an energetic level. Our every cell-we have TRILLIONS, by the way-resonates with energy and our bodies are wise enough to correct imbalances as the Codes are implemented.
Prayer was the first spiritual healing. I would not bypass prayer in the matter of depression or any other matter. I would suggest looking into The Healing Codes, however. They are non toxic, non invasive and fun to do.
We could all live our lives with the pure joy and fresh abandon of the little guys in the picture above, if only we would live our lives in truth and love.
